Turkey filmfest screening ‘Twenty-one Days Later’

The 2018 Universal Kids Film Festival in Turkey is screening Iranian feature ‘Twenty-one Days Later’.

The 2018 edition of the Universal Kids Film Festival (UKFF) in Turkey has been screening Iranian feature ‘Twenty-one Days Later’.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Kheradmandan, ‘Twenty-one Days Later’ is a melodrama about a teenager who has to struggle with several challenges in order to fulfill his dad’s wishes.

The film’s synopsis reads, “It’s always the same! The last time the sky started getting cloudy, the weather became so wild that the storm could have pulled down the trees. It was pouring rain, the birds were screaming around their nests. One of the guys said he saw the sun flashing dim and light once or twice.”

Starring Sareh Bayat and Hamidreza Azarang, the Iranian film was premiered at the ‘Soda-ye-Simorgh’ section of the 35th edition of Iran’s Fajr Film Festival.

Grabbing a nomination for Best Visual Effects Crystal Simorgh, ‘Twenty-one Days Later’ was among the most popular audience picks at the 35th Fajr Film Festival.

It has gone on screen at the 11th Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia as well as the 4th Regina International Film Festival in Canada and received the Best Film award at the 25th Kinder Kino Film Festival in Germany as well as an award at the 2018 International Film Festival for Children and Youth - KINOLUB in Poland.

The UKFF features internationally acclaimed films for children. There is gala screenings, retrospectives and film workshops as well as varied corollary activities for kids such as acting and singing workshops, art and design experiences etc.

The 2018 edition of the UKFF has been slated for September 20-23.
